A prolific painter of Highland and coastal scenes, it is known that Jamieson trained in Paris and as such his work combines traditional subjects with a spontaneous approach to capturing light. Jamieson painted under many pseudonyms and in the 1920’s the London firm of Ajelli and Co reproduced his work as postcards.
