Augustus William Enness (1876-1948) British
Enness studied at the Slade School of Art and the Academie Julian in Paris. Best known as a post-impressionist landscape painter he was an extensive traveller covering much of England as well as Continental Europe and the United States. Enness was successful in his lifetime and exhibited at the Salon des Artistes in Paris, Royal Academy, Royal Institute of British Artists and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters. Today his works can be found in the Southampton City Art Gallery and Leighton House.
